Undergraduate Degree: Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a minor in Exercise Science from Appalachian State University.

Public Health Interests: Sexual Health, Women’s Health, and Health education.

Public Health Experience: I worked for App State’s Wellness and Prevention Services as a Peer Educator in a group called WeCARE. We gave health presentations to groups on campus about nutrition, sexual health, mental health, and more.

I was an Community Health intern for Western Youth Network in Banner Elk, NC for my final semester of undergrad. I worked under the Avery County Community Health Coordinator by attending meetings around the county and worked with the youth of Avery County by providing education on risky behaviors and outlets to avoid those risky behaviors.

Why did I chose the UNC Charlotte MPH program: I chose the UNC Charlotte MPH program because it was close to home and had many concentrations to choose from that I thought were really interesting to further my education in Public Health.
