Undergraduate Degree: Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro
Public Health Interest: Maternal and Child Health
Public Health Experience: I completed an internship with the Maya Angelou Center for Health Equity at Wake Forest School of Medicine, where I contributed to a project called Caregiver College. The project’s goal is to educate family caregivers about Alzheimer’s disease and connect them with resources to help prevent caregiver burnout. The experience exposed me to the field of public health and deepened my understanding of health.
Why I chose the MPH program at UNC Charlotte: I chose the UNC Charlotte MPH program because of its curriculum and class size. A friend who completed her bachelor’s degree in public health at UNC Charlotte spoke very highly of the program, which further confirmed my decision.
