Changes to MPH and HI Programs
The UNC Charlotte MPH Program is expanding! In addition to totally redesigning its core curriculum to meet the recently revised CEPH accreditation requirements, the MPH Program will offer two new concentrations beginning in Fall 2018: Population Health Analytics and Epidemiology. These concentrations join the current Community Health Practice Concentration. Each concentration will include its own focused capstone course. These new concentrations respond to student and employer demand and move Public Health Sciences one step closer to becoming a School of Public Health.
In coordination, the Health Informatics and Analytics Program (HIAN) program will roll out revised MS and graduate certificate curricula for Fall 2018. The program will move to a progressive, sequenced curriculum that provides students a solid foundation in both data systems/data architecture and health analytics. The certificate is now clearly the foundational portion of the masters, allowing students to seamlessly move from the certificate into the master. In the Master’s program, the internship will shift from a capstone to a midpoint experience, with a new capstone course providing a structure similar to that of the MHA and MPH programs.
The MPH and HIAN revisions include adding HADM 6100, ensuring MHA students will have the opportunity to interact with students in those programs.
