Concentration: Community Health Practice
I am an emergency, EMS, and wilderness medicine physician. Increasingly I find my work is primarily engaged with public health and applied anthropology, especially in my roles as medical director of NC State Parks and LEMA (local medical advisor) of US Forests, Wildlife Refuges, and National Parks in North Carolina and elsewhere. Because of this, I’m very excited to be enrolled in the dual degree MA-MPH program at UNC-Charlotte. I live in Morganton about 80 miles north of Charlotte with my wife and I have three children—one who just graduated from college, one at American University in DC, and one in high school in Morganton.
