UNC Charlotte Hosts Higher Education Thought Leader
Association of American Colleges & Universities Executive Terry Rhodes visited UNC Charlotte this week for a series of discussions with faculty, staff and campus leaders.
Dr. Rhodes is the Vice President of the Office of Quality, Curriculum and Assessment and Executive Director of VALUE at AACU.
He met briefly with Chancellor Phillip Dubois and conducted a series of discussions and consultations with faculty, staff and administrators involved in the campus’ assessment of student learning outcomes, ePortfolio pilot program and integrated learning initiatives.
Rhodes focuses on the quality of undergraduate education, access, general education and assessment of student learning. His office furthers the importance of clearly articulating the qualities of a well-educated person, creating coherent educational programs that cultivate those qualities. Rhodes and his team use their findings to determine if these goals have been achieved through general education, the majors and co-curricular work.
Dr. Terry Rhodes previously served in several roles at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, including Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Programs and Special Assistant to the Provost for Assessment.
His visit was sponsored by the Department of Public Health Sciences, and co-sponsored by University College and Communication Across the Curriculum, University Writing Program and the Office of Assessment and Accreditation.
