Professor Michele Issel Mentors Junior Scholars at National Meeting

At the Academy of Management Annual Meeting, Dr. Michele Issel, Director of the Public Health Sciences doctoral program, participated in several forums to mentor junior scholars from throughout the country. She was the organizer of a professional development workshop on navigating academic-practice collaborations in research and a member of a panel of senior researchers who mentored junior scholars on developing conference abstracts. She also drew on her experiences as Editor-in-Chief of the journal Health Care Management Review to deliver an invited presentation on tips for publishing in health care management research.

The meeting was held from August 5-9 in Anaheim, California.​

I was one of several senior researchers who had 20 minutes with each of 4 novice researchers to provide mentoring and feedback on their submitted abstracts. The format was like speed-dating on steroids.
