COPD Symposium Draws More Than 200

More than 200 healthcare providers from across the region involved in the care of COPD patients attended the 2016 Carolinas COPD Symposium at UNC Charlotte, which was hosted for the fourth consecutive year by the Department of Public Health Sciences.

The symposium provided an opportunity for providers to remain current on COPD clinical care best practices from nationally recognized experts, and to network with others from numerous institutions in the Carolinas.

Keynote addresses included: Dr. James Donohue, Professor of Medicine, UNC Chapel Hill (Update on COPD Medications); Dr. Jill Ohar, Professor of Medicine, Wake Forest University (COPD in Women); and Dr. Matthew Hartwig, Associate Professor of Surgery, Duke University (Lung Transplantation and Surgical Procedures for COPD).
