New Faculty: Rajib Paul
In August, we welcomed Dr. Rajib Paul as an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences. Dr. Paul received his PhD in Statistics from Ohio State University. Dr. Paul joined us from Western Michigan University, where he was an Associate Professor of Statistics. Currently, Dr. Paul teaches Public Health Data Analysis, Decision Analysis in Health Care, and Applied Biostatistics. Dr. Paul also serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Statistical Computation and Simulation, a position he has held since October of 2010.
Dr. Paul’s research focuses on Spatial Statistics and its applications in Epidemiology and the environment. (Click here to view his current research.) His goal at UNC Charlotte is to provide statistical aid to everyone in the Public Health Sciences Department. Dr. Paul stated, “I enjoy helping others with external research funding and helping with data analysis”. Dr. Paul noted that the warmer weather in North Carolina influenced his decision to move further south, but it was his interest in continuing his research in Spatial Statistics that drew him to UNC Charlotte.
