Amaya Brockington
Undergraduate Degree and Institution: Bachelor of Arts in Community Health from University of South Carolina Upstate
Public Health Interests: nutrition, health education, health equity
Public Health Experience: During my senior year of undergrad, I interned for ReGenesis Healthcare, a community health clinic in Spartanburg, SC. They have over 6 locations in the Upstate area, all located in low-income areas to serve the underserved communities and provide healthcare for the uninsured and underinsured.
Why did you chose the UNC Charlotte MPH program? I chose this program because I liked the location, Charlotte is a growing city with numerous opportunities for public health professionals. I also visited the campus and it was beautiful and the staff, as well as the professors, were very kind as well.
About Me: I am a Certified Health Coach, looking to start my own health coaching business one day. I want to help people individually reach their health goals, whether it’s fitness, wellness nutrition, or all.
