Public Health Experience: I volunteered within the nonprofit, Fight the Flame which seeks to bring awareness to individual living with CRPS, a rare condition. I also volunteered as a grant researcher within the nonprofit, The FACTs Initiative, whose purpose is to provide resources to families to promote mental health wellness for children and youth. I have taken coursework in public health and a course abroad to learn Spanish in healthcare settings in Costa Rica. I worked as a caregiver for a special needs child to address the needs of vulnerable communities.
Why I chose the MPH program at UNC Charlotte: My career and personal goals aligned perfectly with the goals of the program and faculty. I was inspired by the deep commitment that each faculty member has to help students creating a strong collaborative environment. To further my public health career, I knew I wanted an successful environment to explore interdisciplinary topics that I was interested in. With UNC Charlotte being an R1 institute and having ideal departments like CIPHER, it became my top choice.
About Me: I love to travel to new places whether its an hour away to 3 states away! I also like to go for walks at trails like Riverwalk or volunteer at church.
