Public Health Experience: I have volunteered with NOVANT as an Emergency room volunteer where I escorted patients from waiting room to patient rooms, restocked and took inventory of supplies, rounded the waiting room to check on family and friends, assisted with clerical tasks as directed, and provided information to visitors about department operations. Also, I interned with my country’s Occupational Safety and Health department where I compiled incident reports and maintained records for reporting to supervisors, collected data from companies on workplace injuries and graphed the information, maintained detailed records of safety activities, inspections, and incidents, reviewed documentation to ensure all required onsite records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures.
Why I chose the MPH program at UNC Charlotte: I chose to continue my education at UNC Charlotte because I had great conversations with representatives over the years that opened my eyes to the growth and opportunities I could have, their MPH program aligned with my goals as a health professional specifically when it came to improving health literacy, and then taking informal visits to their campus and getting to know some of the students opened my eyes to the type of environment that was at UNC Charlotte. Also, it helped that this school was close to home, which was a feature of my ideal school.
About Me: My favorite way to spend the weekend is by relaxing and talking with friends, catching up on my favorite Netflix shows like “Suits”, and playing the game with my friends.
