Public Health Interests: holistic and integrated approaches to healthcare, preventative healthcare, sexual and reproductive health, chronic diseases, autoimmunity, nutrition, health psychology
Public Health Experience: During my undergraduate years, I was a volunteer research assistant for the StressWAVES Biobehavioral Research Lab at UNC Charlotte. I conducted lab visits and analyzed and collected various biomarkers, such as heart rate variability and saliva samples. Additionally, I conducted an Honors Thesis on Hormonal Contraceptives and Mental Health. This project was not only a labor of love but was also nominated for the Dean’s Prize for Best Honors Capstone, a testament to my passion and dedication to improving health. I plan to utilize this large data set for further analysis.
Why did you chose the UNC Charlotte MPH program? Since I earned my bachelor’s degrees at UNC Charlotte, the community and campus have become home to me. I was specifically drawn to the MPH program because of its comprehensive curriculum, reputation and accreditation, faculty, and research opportunities. The program’s emphasis on interdisciplinary learning align perfectly with my career goals. Additionally, the university’s supportive environment and access to resources and facilities will provide me with the skills and experience needed to make a significant impact in the field of public health.
